Stubborn kids and kids with fever

If I meet somebody I have not seen in a very long time I sometime find myself saying: "If I knew how much fun it is I would have started much sooner" - referring to the two kids my love and I produced together.
Couple of days ago, early morning I was sitting in bed with my two year old on the lap, he just vomit all his morning milk and was loudly claiming he did not want those pants, but the ones with cars on. The six year old was curled up behind my back coughing and running a pretty high fever. My love was on his knees on the floor cleaning up the milk. Thinking about it for a moment I declared: It is so much fun having kids! I got no answer from the man on the floor.

When you live in Norway sometimes a stroller is not the easiest way to get home from school

Snow, snow - NOT tidelibom!

Usually I do think it's fun with snow - lots of snow. It is something extraordinary and fantastic with such an amount of white cold stuff that makes the world pretty at least for a little bit. And especially when the car is parked in a warm, dry and nice garage close to my front door. ..and especially when it's warm and nice with a crackling fire on the fireplace...

But it is NOT fun with snow when it's 7.45 am and minus 16 Celsius outside, and I am standing there on the outside platform waiting for a train which is NOT coming. Not fun when the train which usually takes 12 minutes to work takes 85 minutes to work, including a long detour (you don't think trains are not able to take detours? Well, they can, believe me!!!) and several long stops with the doors open. NOT fun when the bus I choose to take home from work, cause those f... trains do not work(!) never comes. So I am forced to wait outside in the blistering cold for 35 minutes!

It is a shame, it is more then a shame it is straight out embarrassing that a country who takes pride in being a snow country can't handle with 40 to 50 cm of snow.

Now I am finally at home on my way to a hot bathtub. There I will spend the time thinking about how to get to work tomorrow....

Happy mothersday Sunday

Today is mothers day here in Norway. And it is still snowing - a lot. Mothers get to sleep late on this day, something I enjoyed too. And husbands or partners and kids make breakfast. It all works out beautiful for mothers. At least for this mother!
(Now I just wondered what couples of mothers do on this day? You know couples where it is two mothers and two kids - and that's it. Got to remember to ask that question..)
As I mention before - we have such terrific neighbours, and today was the big open fire - BBQ hot dogs on sticks and drink hot cocoa day. It felt almost like when I was a kid and went out on Sundays to ski. Except this time I did not have to put on my skis. I just wander out the door down in the backyard. Next door neighbour did go skiing though. Up the street and out in to the closest park. (It's so much snow here now you can just ski around in the streets. It's probably the easiest way to get around anyway. And yesterday Tae-Young saw two kids snowboarding down the street outside our kitchen window. Happy days!)
Well anyway, that was my Sunday. Slow and nice with lots of people and kids and chatting and take out for dinner from the slow food place in the back alley by the gym. Happy mothers day!

Borte bra, men hjemme best!

Det snør, det snør tidelibom

First day of blogging, lets see how this goes...

The Yooniverse had an early rise this morning. But 7.15 am is not so bad, I guess it could have been much worse.... Even mr. dad slept soundly in Miro's room. And Vyom (6 years old) and Miro (2 years old) was very awake in the parent bed.
But I guess it's not too bad to get up early a Saturday morning with the air filled with big, fluffy snowflakes and a big fire inside...?

We (The Yooniverse and the terrific neighbours) was planning to bbq hot dogs on the bonfire outside in the backyard today, but maybe we should come up with another plan for the day? Hmmm, what to do?
